Karnezis for Sporting?
Panathinaikos keeper could replace Rui Patrício
Sporting Lisbon are already preparing a probable departure by Rui Patrício and have pointed a target to replace him: Orestis Karnezis.
The Panathinaikos and Greece national team goalkeeper is the first option and Os Leões have already approached the Greek outfit to inquire about the 27-year-old.
The keeper was coached by two ex-Sporting managers: Jesualdo Ferreira, at the club, and Fernando Santos, who gave him his first international cap in February 2012, against Belgium.
According to daily A Bola, the Portuguese side is willing to release some players that don't fit Leonardo Jardim's squad, for financial reasons, like striker Valeri Bojinov or midfielder Pranjic.
In response, the Greeks, who have already dismissed a €600 hundred from Spaniards Betis, informed Os Leões that want nothing less than €700 hundred, one of the mentioned players and a match against the capital outfit.
Formed at Ovi, Karnezis is at Panathinaikos since 2007 and has played 39 games last season.
